Liverpool Will Never ‘Just Grind Out Results’ Like Chelsea, Says Brendan Rodgers

Liverpool head coach Brendan Rodgers says that he will never ask his players to play like Chelsea do, preferring instead the attacking approach that the Reds have adopted so far this season under his management, according to reports in the Independent.
The Merseyside giants overcame struggling Swansea City 4-3 at Anfield on Sunday afternoon in the Premier League to move six points clear of rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the fourth and final qualifying berth for next season’s Uefa Champions League.
And after the game, Rodgers said: ”I worry always to play good football. I’m not one who is totally satisfied to always just grind out results. It is about winning and that’s what professional sport is about at this level.
“But for us I will always concentrate on performance because I think that the consequence of performing well consistently is getting results and this season we’ve shown that. We’ve shown that when we play well we get the win.
“The problem is that it’s not coaching. Some of the things we conceded goals in you can’t coach that. There’s a feel when you’re in the game of how to defend and you have to use that experience to be able to defend properly.”

There were no Picnics or walk-in-the park stories between my Father and I – Clarence Peters

It is no more news that the relationship between Juju maestro, Sir Shina Peters, and Nollywood icon, Clarion Chukwura, produced celebrated music video director, Clarence Peters. But what some may not know is that Clarence started having to relate with his father well about five years ago.
The young peters disclosed recently that it was about five years ago that he began understanding his dad’s person.
Clarence said “I started having a relationship with him five years ago. When one starts having a relationship with one’s father when one is older, one tends to understand a lot of things about him which one will not understand as a kid. I understand a lot of his mistakes; I relate with his mistakes and empathise with them. I understand where he was coming from. When we have discussions now, I understand the conversations more, which I am not sure I would have if I were still a kid.
There were no picnics or walk-in-the park stories between my father and I, but there are many things to gain and learn from his wealth of experience as an artiste and a man. Our relationship is more on the standpoint of his wealth of knowledge in the arts and as an artiste. We have an artistic relationship.”
Asked he was attracted to his father’s works “I am not attracted to my father’s body of works. I am mostly attracted to his choice of percussions and the melodies. I am enthralled by the way he does it. I think my father’s best performance for me was when I was in his house one day. There was no light and he was drinking a bottle of Gulder. He took his acoustic guitar and played for an hour. I know that he has not done his best work yet. Nigerians are ready for him to do his best work but he doesn’t believe they are ready for him. Those who know him will agree that he has not done his best work.

Appointing SANUSI As CBN Governor Was A Huge Mistake – PAT UTOMI

As controversy rages over the suspension of Mallam Sanusi Lamido, a renowned economist, Professor Pat Utomi has berated the tenure of Lamido as a Central Bank governor, describing his original appointment as “a huge mistake”
Reacting to the suspension of the controversial apex bank chief in a chat in Abuja, the Director of Lagos Business School, said Sanusi should never have been appointed as a Central Bank governor in the first place, declaring “it should not have happened”
Utomi joined two Senior Advocates of Nigeria, Mr. Femi Falana and Chief Mike Ozhekome who had issued legal positions on the suspension of the apex bank chief.
While Falana blamed Sanusi for not resigning when so directed by President Goodluck Jonathan, Ozhekome cited alleged infringements of extant rules to justify Sanusi’s suspension.
Utomi, however, faulted the nomination and appointment of Sanusi five years ago on the ground that the suspended bank chief lacked certain qualities of a Central Bank Governor
Utomi said: “It should not have happened. Sanusi’s appointments was wrong in the first place. He was not suitable for the job. CBN governors all over the World are men of great discretion in actions, pronouncements and deeds.

Mbaye Niang, who joined Montpellier on loan last month from AC Milan, has been sentenced to a suspended 18-month jail sentence after a hit and run car accident.
The 19-year-old Frenchman admitted hitting several cars before crashing his Ferrari into a tree earlier this month.
He was charged with causing unintentional injuries, endangering people’s lives, a hit and run and driving without a licence.
The prosecutor had asked for 170 hours of community work but the court handed him the suspended sentence instead.
Eleven people, some of whom were slightly injured, had filed a civil complaint.

Francois Lafont, lawyer for the plaintiffs, said: “It was pure craziness. It´s not just an accident, this is assault. Ten people could have been killed.”

After nine years of marriage, Robin Thicke and wife Paula Patton split

US hitmaker Robin Thicke and his wife Paula Patton have separated after nearly nine years.
In a joint statement to People Magazine, the couple said they’d always be best friends.
“We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time,” they said.
There have been rumours that the Hollywood couple’s relationship has been on the rocks ever since Robin released his controversial Blurred Lines video last year, and then sang it live on TV while Miley Cyrus twerked on him.
Robin and Paula met when they were teenagers, married in 2005 and had a son, Julian in 2010.
“I knew she was special the night I met her. I was only 14, but she was already the most special girl,” Miley’s twerking co-star told Star Magazine a few months ago.
“As a relationship progresses, you fall in love again in so many deeper ways. You realize that you need each other and you can’t live without each other.”
The Blurred Lines singer gave a gushing interview praising his wife Paula, just days after a picture emerged of him groping a young fan back in September.
He told Prestige magazine: “I don’t know if I would still be alive in some ways if it wasn’t for Paula. She’s been my rock, my muse, my inspiration and I love her. The whole way.”
Actress Paula, who has a three-year-old son with the sunglasses loving singer, also gave her verdict on what makes the couple tick.
She said: ‘We’re best friends. We laugh a lot. But that’s our down time. We do the things you’re supposed to do, like work out. We love to travel together and travel with our child.
“We don’t have normal jobs. So it’s always a work house. Robin makes music at home and my job when I’m not on set always brings people into our home.’
